The first call soon to be launched!

How to find the right researcher or host institution? Starting from today, you may register in the Partner Search Tool, read “POLONEZ BIS Guide for Applicants” and watch our promo video. The first POLONEZ BIS call for proposals will be launched on 15 September 2021.

POLONEZ BIS is not an ordinary grant but a comprehensive programme that integrates research, short-term secondments in non-academic institutions and soft skill training. In three calls, the National Science Centre plans to recruit 120 experienced foreign researchers who will move to Poland for 24 months in order to carry out their basic research projects.

POLONEZ BIS is addressed to PhD holders or researchers with at least 4 years of full-time research experience, who have lived or worked outside of Poland for at least 2 out of 3 years before the call announcement. They will be free to choose the topics and disciplines of the research proposals which they will submit jointly with the Polish host institutions (their future employers).

Scientists and institutions searching for relevant research partners are welcome to use a dedicated POLONEZ BIS Partner Search Tool.  Whether you are a POLONEZ BIS candidate, a prospective host institution or an organisation offering a short-term secondment, just create a profile and answer some questions. Then, with one click, you can publish your expression of interest in the open part of the database.

“Registration in the POLONEZ BIS Partner Search Tool is not a requirement, but we highly recommend it. The more offers in the database, the easier it will be for candidates and institutions to get in touch and establish cooperation,” says Jolanta Palowska from the International Cooperation Department at the NCN.

The applicants can also read  ”POLONEZ BIS Guide for Applicants” to find out about the recruitment procedure and terms and conditions of the programme.

The first call for proposals opens on 15 September 2021 and closes on 15 December 2021. The next calls are scheduled for March and September 2022.
