Short summary of activities and expertise | My interests lie in comparative evolutionary biology and ecology of marine invertebrates, specifically Annelida – answering hypothesis driven questions regarding systematics, molecular and morphological evolution and adaptation, and ecology of those living in extreme environments, including the subterranean, deep sea abyssal and chemosynthetic zones, the pelagic realm and the interstitium. My research focus integrates molecular methods (genomic DNA and transcriptomic RNA sequencing), advanced microscopy (SEM, TEM, CLSM), histology (embedding and immunohistochemistry), microCT scanning and analytical methods (tree building, comparative methods). |
