Short summary of activities and expertiseMy doctoral thesis was focused on the development of composite masonry interlocking bricks incorporated crumb rubber for structural applications. The results have been published in an ISI high impact journals, like Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Building engineering, …etc. Besides, I have involved in several projects such as investigation the shear and flexural behavior of High-Performance Self-Compacting Concrete (HPSCC) beams with high compressive strength and without coarse aggregate. Also, I have conducted a study to determine the influence of secondary reinforcement on the behavior of corbels fabricated with three different types of high-performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites, including engineered cementitious concrete (ECC); high-performance steel fiber-reinforced composite (HPSFRC); and hybrid fiber-reinforced composite (HyFRC). Another investigation on the structural behavior of the RC deep beams that reinforces the web openings with externally connected carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite in the shear zone has been carried out. Recently, a research work titled “Cracking behavior of sea sand RC beam bonded externally with CFRP plate” was published in Structures journal. Moreover, as part of my previous Postdoc projects, Rubberized Engineered Cementitious Composite Containing Graphene Oxide for structural applications were investigated for acid and sulphate attack as well as the deformation properties. The output of this project has been published in two ISI papers at Materials journal. Therefore, I am planning to expend this research for the “Development of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC)” incorporated nano-silica and nano-graphene for structural strengthening to resist dynamic loading”. The normal ECC will be modified by incorporating crumb rubber, nano silica, nano graphene and fibers to the mixture that can increase the energy absorption capacity of the ECC to provide a more ductile structure.
