Short summary of activities and expertiseDr Savani Anbalagan is currently establishing a young research group in UAM, Poznan. His group is focused on studying neurovascular development using zebrafish as model organism. Located in Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, his lab has access to fish facility, advanced in-house microscopy facilities (confocal, light-sheet and superresolution). The lab has vast expertise in developing and applying transgenic and CRISPR-based zebrafish models to study neurovascular development.
Role and profile of key persons (incl. supervisor)Dr Savani was trained in groups of leading scientists in Italy and Israel. After his PhD in Univ. of Milano-Bicocca, he did his postdoctoral studies at Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He recently received a prestigious NCN Sonata-BIS grant to start his own research group in UAM, Poznan. As the postdoctoral duration is limited to 2 years, Dr Savani will help the candidate in preparing a feasible proposal.
Previous and current involvement in research and training programmesDr Savani is currently a PI in NCN - Sonata BIS 2020/38/E/NZ3/00090
