| Short summary of activities and expertise | Dr Savani Anbalagan is currently establishing a young research group in UAM, Poznan. His group is focused on studying neurovascular development using zebrafish as model organism. Located in Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, his lab has access to fish facility, advanced in-house microscopy facilities (confocal, light-sheet and superresolution). The lab has vast expertise in developing and applying transgenic and CRISPR-based zebrafish models to study neurovascular development. |
| Role and profile of key persons (incl. supervisor) | Dr Savani was trained in groups of leading scientists in Italy and Israel. After his PhD in Univ. of Milano-Bicocca, he did his postdoctoral studies at Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He recently received a prestigious NCN Sonata-BIS grant to start his own research group in UAM, Poznan. As the postdoctoral duration is limited to 2 years, Dr Savani will help the candidate in preparing a feasible proposal. |
