[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”details_blue”]An exhibition at the Louvre, radio programs, interviews about life in Poland, podcasts or even a cartoon – these are just a few examples of the creative outreach activities carried out by POLONEZ BIS Fellows.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Throughout the funding period, POLONEZ BIS Fellows are required to share their research findings with audiences who might not otherwise have access to them. This is achieved through at least two outreach activities organized by each Fellow. They should promote public awareness and understanding of science e.g. by public talks or discussions, visiting primary and secondary schools, conducting workshops, participating in science fairs and festivals, making science resources and programs accessible to the general public.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With many POLONEZ BIS projects approaching their final stage – and some already completed \u2013 we have a growing number of inspiring outreach activities that highlight the results of the projects. Below, you’ll find examples of successful communication activities POLONEZ BIS Fellows have already carried out.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Exhibitions<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An exhibition might not be the most conventional way to showcase the results of a scientific project, but in the case of Dr. Karel Innem\u00e9e\u2019s research, it proved to be an ideal choice. One of the project\u2019s most striking outcomes was the reconstruction of several costumes from medieval Christian Nubia. These reconstructions were presented at the Louvre Museum under the patronage of UNESCO, earning widespread media attention both in Poland and internationally.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Podcasts and radio programs\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the last decade podcasting has gained massive popularity and has become a mainstream medium. There are countless science podcasts, and many universities have launched their own series. Our Fellows, Dr. Anton Dinerstein and Dr. Christoph Merdes, created their own podcasts, while Dr. El Sayed Ali and Dr. Jos\u00e9 M.F. Ferreira appeared as guests on the podcast series of their host institutions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
