The first in a series of videos now on YouTube![\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tourists visiting the Baltic Coast can buy fresh fish for only a few months a year. At the same time, the levels of microplastics, heavy metals, and pesticides in the seas and oceans continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Michael Lintner investigates the impact of these pollutants on the microorganisms at the base of the food chain that ultimately leads to humans. &#8211; We want to make a conclusion which substances should be avoided in by aquaculture and in agriculture \u2013 says dr Lintner, from Institute of Geological Sciences PAS &#8211; All the pollution we put in the environment will be absorbed into microorganisms and higher animals.
