The POLONEZ BIS programme introduces special<\/span> measures<\/span> for <\/span>Applicants <\/span>who <\/span>are <\/span>at risk due to <\/span>\u00a0military aggression of Russia against Ukraine<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]POLONEZ BIS supports researchers who are experiencing threats to their life, liberty or research career, and those who are forced to flee or have been displaced because of such threats. Accordingly, <\/span>the Council of the National Science Centre introduced special measures<\/span><\/a> for those POLONEZ BIS 2 Applicants who had to leave Ukraine as a result of the Russian military aggression and arrived in Poland on or after 24 February 2022.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants who, when fleeing the war, did not take with them the required documents proving that they hold a PhD degree or at least four years of full-time research experience, may instead provide letters of recommendation from other researchers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Refugees from Ukraine do not count the period of their stay in Poland starting on or after 24 February 2022 towards the 12-month limit of stay in Poland during the 3 years prior to the announcement of the call. This period may count as a career break. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Researchers who found employment in Polish institutions on or after 24 February 2022 may apply for the POLONEZ BIS 2 call in the same host institutions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Special measures for Applicants in the POLONEZ BIS 2 call apply only to persons defined in the <\/span>Executive Decision of the Council of the EU 2022\/382<\/span><\/a>, i.e. Ukrainian citizens residing in Ukraine before 24 February 2022, third-country nationals who are able to prove that they resided in Ukraine legally on the basis of a permanent residence permit, persons who benefited from international or national protection in Ukraine, as well as family members of such persons. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
